TINSA Ltd - a member company of BACCRC – became the first notified body to carry out assessments on the interoperability of the railway system of the Republic of Bulgaria with the railway system within the borders of the European community

The chief activities of TINSA are the examination and assessment of subsystems “Infrastructure”, “Energy” and “Control, management and signaling” of the conventional railway system with technical specifications for interoperability and aspects: “Safety in railway tunnels” and “Persons with impaired mobility”.

Since the 27th of November, 2011, the company holds a national license, issued by the MTITC, and since June 2012 it also holds an Authorization by EC with reg. № 2387 for operation in the countries of the European Community.

Together with a team from the Italian company Rina, TINSA took part and came first in the tender for assessment of the interoperability of the permanent way of “Danube bridge 2” between Bulgaria and Romania at Vidin-Kalafat.

VII Annual Conference - Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2012
BACCRC participated in the VII Annual Conference “Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2012” organized by the City Media Group and “Capital” newspaper which took place on 29 March 2012 at the Sofia Sheraton Hotel.  The conference was attended by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria – Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, who not only welcomed the participating business and administration representatives, but also shared interesting ideas the realization of which would assist Bulgaria and Sofia in taking a top position on the European map of connected Europe. The government has been represented by the Ministers Tomislav Donchev, Liliana Pavlova, Ivailo Moskovski and Nona Karadzhova.

Engineer Sevdalin Valnarov – BACCRC’s vice-chairman was a Moderator of the second panel dedicated to: “Railway Infrastructure Reformation and Development Priorities for the Period 2014 – 2020; Railway Projects Funding; Geographic Information System (GIS) Project  for SE ”NRIC”  Purposes”.

Mr. Richard Kerry – BACCRC’s Managing Council member reported to the forum as well.  Mr. Kerry’s presentation was about the progress of the construction activities on the “Plovdiv – Svilengrad Railway Electrification and Upgrading” Project, as well as the participation of BACCRC member companies in the construction of the modern railway infrastructure of Bulgaria.

Election meeting of BACCRC. New Board was elected.
On the 20.03.2012, a General report and election meeting of BACCRC was held.

Тhe report of the Management board highlighted the activities, falling within the time frame covered by the same, and which continue to affirm the priority given to the railway infrastructure and its development and modernization.

A number of conferences, forums, seminars and other events in the railway sector were held with the partnership of BACCRC. The tradition of mutually beneficial cooperation with UEEIV (Union of European Railway Engineer Associations) and NASRTE (National Association – Society of Railway Track Engineers) continues and BACCRC also has a good standing with the NTU of transport and the Association of railway constructors

 BACCRC is a constant presence and partner of the annual “Strategic infrastructure of Bulgaria conferences, organized by CITY MEDIA GROUP and CAPITAL newspaper and held at Sheraton hotel, Sofia.

BACCRC is a sponsor of a number of events, amongst which the issue of a two-volume encyclopedia set “The Rolling Stock of the Bulgarian Railways, period 1866-2010”.

Also a permanent fixture is our presence in the industry sector and sub sector councils for three-way railway transport partnership with the MTITC and the Monitoring Committee with the Operational Programme – Transport.

The association also maintains contacts with branch organizations and other associations in sector “Railway transport” (BORT) with the aim to combine the efforts towards the goal of bettering the policies and instituting the practice of good legislation and management in the sector.

At the general meeting a new Association Board was elected. Mr. Toma Yotsov was re-elected to the position of chairman. Deputy chairmen are Mr. Sevdalin Vulnarov and Mr. Valentin Mihaylovski, with members of the Managing Board Mr. Iliya Iliev and Mr. Richard Kerry.
